I am aged 32. I am 28 weeks pregnant having gestational diabetes. I am at 500 mg glycomet and 4 & 8 units of insulin on yesterday .my sugar levels at 157 & 217. I am increasing my dosage but my sugar levels are increasing. Please suggest solution.

Thanks for the query. During pregnancy it is absolutely essential to maintain blood glucose levels between 90 to 120 mg through out the day. The levels mentioned are too high. You will have to increase the Insulin dosage to a much higher level. Please speak to your physician and gynecologist and get the glucose levels down. You may have to increase Insulin to 10 and 12 units. Plus check glucose levels more often may be 2 to 3 times a day, till required levels are achieved. Thanks.
