My father had accident and the right hand is not working properly. The L3 nerves is got damaged. We have checked with the CMC vellore Dr. So that they had done the operation but its not work and now he has been suffering from the nerves problem since 8 years before. The pain is continually 24 hrs. He is taken some painkiller like gapapinSR 150, Amixide H, neurobion, etc daily. And it can be harm his liver also. So what we do? If we do not give medicine he can not bear the pain. please suggest.

Looks like he is having neuropathic pain and may be CRPS - I (a condition where there is nerve damage and pain after that. There are few treatments like lumbar sympathetic blocks, ketamine infusion and spinal cord stimulation to treat this. You also need to optimise the drug dosages as sometimes improper dosage may not be successful in relieving the pain.
