Hello lybrate-user, You are doing the right things but you need to increase your physical activity a bit more. Exercise or physical activity of atleast 30 min daily 5 days a week is recommended for diabetics. So try to increase your exercise further. Well done on cutting down sugars and sweets, if you are having any rice items or excessive carbohydrates you have to cut them too. Diet and exercise will keep your blood sugars under control, despite this if your sugars are still high we need to alter or add other medications for which you can consult diabetologist. Hope this is useful to you.

Mr. lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query. Ideally when blood glucose is well controlled fasting glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8. At 43 years, you need to achieve a stricter glucose control. Present glucose levels are fairly high, need to be better controlled. This will need upgrading the present treatment, plus giving a closer look at your diet and extent of daily exercise. Achieving better control either postpones or prevents long term complications of diabetes. Thanks.
