I had pcos problem, doctor prescribed me normoz tablet and metformin for three months without checking my blood sugar. Is it good to start medication without checking blood sugar levels. And also the tablet combination .Please give advice.

While treating PCOS the blood sugar level is not important to start or continue medicines . Although metformin given in diabetics , it is given in PCOD also. Young women with PCOS often have elevated insulin levels and are more likely to develop diabetes. Metformin is a medication often prescribed for women with PCOS to help prevent diabetes. A lifestyle that includes healthy nutrition and daily exercise is the most important part of a PCOS treatment plan. .
