My child 3 and half years old is having mild autism we are giving occupational therapy also he is responding also but I just want to ask till what age this therapy will continue and he hits children in his class or even people at home. His therapist are also not able to know the reason for his behaviour. He is tactile and vestibular which has affected speech.

You should take therapy for at least 1 year, exact estimation of how long it will take to completely cure the problem cant be told but things will be under control within 1 year. Keep a close watch on the changes occuring in your child; sometimes there could be occurrence of new symptoms, for every positive or negative change you must observe child carefully. Spend lots of time with your child, take him to the park & let him play with other children. If child is having problem with communicating then you must start with speech therapy as well. Hitting is one of the behavior in autistic children, negative reinforcement technique need to be used. He avoids or seeks tactile & vestibular sense? Is he hypersensitive or hyposensitive?
