My wife, who is 26, started having trouble getting sleep early this year. She doesn't have any other mental illnesses. When she visited a doctor, she was prescribed Alkepin ODT 12.5 mg for few months and then replaced it with Asprito 5 mg. I came to know lately through internet that these family of drugs are antipsychotic drugs and are used for treating mental illnesses like Schizophrenia. Please advise if she should continue taking them or should we consult another doctor.

You can taper the medication and plan to stop it and if she recurs with her symptoms than meet a psychiatrist for confirmation.
