I am 80 years old male type II diabetic taking Metformin 1000 mg, glimepiride 2 mg both morning after meals and at night before bed time. And with ZITA 20 mg (Teneligliptin) in the morning. Problem: severe itching on the scrotum, white film coating below the fore skin of the penis, over the bulb and oily like coating seen in the morning-- all washed at the time of bathing daily. I am Using human soap. During itching I apply powder (clotrimazole powder) to get relief in 10 minutes. All these during the past two weeks. My next consultation is due in Sept. '18 end Advice solicited.

Hello, Thanks for the query. In diabetes fungal infection of scrotal region and penis can occur if blood glucose is not in .control. Ideally fasting glucose should be closer to 100 mg, PP 160 to 18 mg and HbA1c% about 7%. You may need oral antifungal like Fluconazole for a few weeks. Thanks.
