Hi, I have a simple cyst in left ovary of 5.4 cm Now I am taking a contraceptive pill but I am experiencing light back pain and thigh pain for some time is laparoscopy necessary and should a take pill please suggest me.

Take contraceptive pills for 3 cycles, repeat your ultrasound after 3 cycles. If cyst had disappeared or has decreased in size then nothing to be done, if cyst size remains the same or increases in size then go for laparoscopy.

Simply you have to go for ultrasound to know the size of cyst. After that if cyst size varies then go to a gynaecologist for better consultation.
