My mother is suffering from Tb disease and about four years ago she is prescribed forecox medicine which treat her in better way but now she is having tb symptoms again. We have approached many doctors but couldn't help us in anyway medicine doesn't work. So my mother starts forecox again by her own which helps her but don't know for how long have to take it and dosage of medicine. Which type of diet should follow for her and which is best medicine and for how long have to take it and dosage of medicine. Is forecox is best for her that's why her Dr. previously prescribed her that medicine. please suggest me I don't want to loose my mom. She often have fever and pain in abdomen.

lybrate-user, its not right to start tb medication on your own again and it can lead to drug resistant TB which is very difficult to cure. The symptoms could be related to other problems than TB or it could be drug resistant TB and you need to consult a pulmonologist who has a MD or DM degree in (Pulmonary medicine or TB and chest medicine). Along with her Xray chest, CBC, ESR,Sputum for AFB also get her GENEXpert test done. These particular medicines should never be given on your own volition. It could be dangerous.
