My father has been admitted to the hospital on 15th Aug. He was previously suffering from urinary tract infection which after the given medication he hardly made any recovery. After being admitted, it was said to us that the infection has somewhat affected the kidney leaving the creatinine level to be 4 and after few days it increased to 6.80. Temporary dialysis has been suggested as the bladder was blocked with the infection and waste and the urine was not able to pass through. After dialysis, the creatinine level reduced to 4.something (dialysis took place on 20-31 Aug). Today the report indicates that creatinine level has increased to 6.20. He is still under medication for the infection. What is the reason for this and what would you suggest? He is also diagnosed with diabetes since 1996. Thank you.
