After a bypass surgery one needs to take blood thinning medications which prolongs the bleeding time but without any prolongation if clotting parameters. During this time one needs to be careful of any external injury due to the risk of bleeding. But one can get an intramuscular injection without any problem provided his clotting profile is normal.
