Dear Shika, Consuming alcohol is risky in general, particularly for liver. GGT 114 may be more specific to liver damage due to alcohol. SGOT and SGPT are important liver enzymes that are increased more than twice. Ultrasound abdomen will show whether liver has increased in size or decreased. If it is fatty, it will be reversible, if your husband stops drinking alcohol. Doctors can help him with withdrawal symptoms management, anticraving drugs and aversion drug, if he decides to quit. Please motivate him to stop drinking alcohol.
