I have been tested positive for ureaplasma and given zithromax to get rid of it. I do not have any symptoms and found it from a regular STI screening. How long could I hold this bacteria without knowing it? Online, Ive read that it only spreads through sexual contact, but some websites state its part of some people's natural microbiome. Which is true, and why haven't I been tested for this before?

Hello- Ureaplasma is a bacterium that can be passed through sexual contact although it is not considered a classic STI or STD because of its low degree of pathogenicity.
