My hba1c was 7.3, FBS 119, PPBS 192 I was given glycomet 500 mg I was not doing any diet from past one and a half month I have stopped taking medication my FBS was 100, PPBS 126 and hba1c 6.4 my first test was done in January and this are my latest reports should I continue with medication or it's not required to take any medication and lead a normal lifestyle.

U need medicines. As you have higher HbA1C. your fasting n PP blood sugar is almost normal as you might have not taken any sweet food just prior night or so. That is why HbA1C is a better indicator (for last 3 months). U need to lead an active lifestyle Do the following== 1. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). 2. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. 3. Have light meals every 2 hours (in addition to your breakfast, lunch n dinner) e.g. Nariyal paani, chaach, a handful of dry fruits, a handful of peanuts, seasonal fruit, a cup of curd/milk etc 4. Finish your dinner at least 2 hours before going to sleep. 5. Maintain active life style 6. Avoid fast foods n fried foods 7.Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. 8. Drink lot of water 9. Everyday preferably sleep on same time Eating every 2 hours increases basal metabolic rate also. If you follow this over a period of time you will see that your intake of food has decreased. Since you are overweight, it is better you continue medication and you also follow medical nutrition therapy for your meals. And increase your physical activity. Sugars may start increasing again any time if precautions are not taken.
