Mr. lybrate-user Krishnan, Thanks for the query. You are already taking almost optimum dose of Glimiperide and Pioglitazone. So instead of adding a new drug, please look at your diet pattern and exercise schedule. Because those two aspects are very vital in achieving a stricter glucose control. Your caloric intake should be based on ideal body weight, plus extent of daily exercise and glucose levels. Plus increase the intake of green leafy vegetables and salads also certain fruits. Follow the plate method for taking food: 50% of the plate should be vegetables and fruits. Remaining 50 % should be -25% carbs and 15% proteis & 10% fats. That should help in achieving your glucose target values. Thanks.
