My wife is 8 month pregnant. Doc has advised to take Omega 3 for development of child. My wife is now taking SeaCod which contains Omega 3, Vitamin E and Vitamin D. When I search online, I found that Vitamin A can cause birth defect. Kindly Advice if she can continue SeaCod and its dose or any other alternative.

Hi, VItamin A when given in therapeutic dose can cause birth defect in the first trimester but not after that. Seacod contain only supplemental nutritonal doses and may not lead to these birth defects. If you have been recommended omega 3 either take other supplements like flaxseed, fish, eggs, etc.
