Dear lybrate-user, What are the symptoms of schizophrenia you had, hallucinations, delusions or bizarre behaviour or negative symptoms? With adequate dose of risdone, they come under control. I don't know how much of risdone you have taken to find no difference. Usually it is 6-8 mg/day in divided doses. It does not give much sleep. But other side effects may be there. So doctors start with low dose and gradually increase it, if you tolerate it. Qutipin is little sedating and also it controls the symptoms at 600 - 800 mg/day. Again doctors start with low dose so that you don't oversleep. Zapiz is not a drug for schizophrenia. It is an add-on for sleep. If you don't want a sleeping tablet, you can stop zapiz.
