I am 1 month and 20 days pregnant woman aged 30 years. My TSH is 3.152. I had never before any thyroid history. Now I am worried whether will it affect on my upcoming child?

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Madam Ideally TSH should be maintained in the following levels during gestation period: 1 st Trimester: 0.2 to 2.5 mU/L, 2nd Trimester 0.2 to 3.0 m/L 3rd Trimester 0.3 to 3.0 mU/L. Considering these levels, your curreent level is higher than recommended. So it is better if Levothyroxine is taken in required dosage and TSH is brought down to desired level. It is essential to maintain TSH in the recommended range for proper development of fetus and normal delivery. Thanks.
