I have psoriasis on my skin. It happens mostly on my scalp, ears, face and around neck. Sometimes skin patches develop at other regions of the body. I have minimized eating too much sweet or sour or spicy foods and dairy products. I avoid too much sunlight. I had pitted nails since childhood. I take vitamin supplements. I eat fruits and vegetables regularly. I do yoga almost daily. I avoid chemicals, perfumes. I keep my skin moisturized. I want to know how I can prevent the psoriasis to spread any further and how to control it during flare-ups. During any infections, the skin itches the most, how can I get a little relief? And what are my chances of developing psoriatic arthritis? And is there any preventive measures I can take than will delay the progress of this disease? I keep myself stress free as much as possible. But I need to take medicines because I have dystonia, a neurological movement disorder. I have to use topical calcipotriol ointment and coal tar shampoo on my scalp during psoriasis flare-up.
