Hi, I had no any problem but my stomach left side spleen got enlarged as doctor and reports decided massive splenomegaly found and later after all blood check up tests and bone marrow sample test all these test results as chronic myeloid leukemia cml having. So doctor given me to take TABLET IMATINIB 400 mg daily for lifelong, my Question is after having this tables and after long days if my spleen got reduced and get into normal shall can I stop my taking tablets. And may I know is there any side effects from this tablet imatinib 400 mg.

Never ever stop these tablets There is only small subset of patients in whom disease is under complete molecular response for 2 years or more we are able to stop the medicines.

There are minor side effects of imatinib. Not everyone gets them. You need to discuss them with your hematologist. Don't stop the medicine until you doc tells you to.
