Recently it was diagnosed that I have a grade 1 renal parenchymal change in my Right kidney. I wanted to know what does it mean, risks associated with it, treatment and habits to be changed. Important points to be noted: - I am SAMRAT, 21 years old from Telangana state of India. - When I was in 16 I was diagnosed having stones in my Right kidney, but after that I was treated with ayurvedic medicines and within short time it got cured. - Later it was diagnosed that I have a cyst of 12x12 mm in right kidney, as my physician suggested I used to take good amount of water for healthy kidney and not to consume chicken also. - Later it got reduced to 8x8 mm. Then I started neglecting it recently when I got my abdomen scanned it increased to 20x20 'm - The impression in the report is as follows: Grade - 1 renal parenchymal changes found in right kidney with a simple cortical cyst of 20x20 mm.

It means there is slight decrease in function of your right kidney. It could be due to some infection caused by the stone initially. Nothing to worry. Just get your serum creatinine levels and urine routine check.
