My wife is 30 year old getting treatment for paranoid schizophrenia. She was given sizodon 4 mg, valium 5 mg and chlorpromazine 50 mg. Can you please suggest is this the right treatment for schizophrenia?

Dear lybrate-user, They are all tablets to treat schizophrenia. But the dose depends on how much your wife improved and what kind of side effect she is having. Weight gain, sleep improvement, shakiness, salivation, stiffness, etc needs to be assessed periodically to change or alter the dose of these tablets. There are long term side effect of sizodon like prolactin elevation, metabolic syndrome, etc. These things also needs to be weighed against improvement in the follow up with the psychiatrist. Take her regularly for check up, please.
