My mother has been suffering from i.P.Fibrosis for the past 2 years, although she is comfortable with all household activities and is on medication (like pirfetab, etc) since then, i would like to know if there are any particular things to be kept in mind to either improve the condition or to avoid further damage?

Dear, IPF is a diagnosis of exclusion especially the collagen vascular disease like systemic sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis with typical CT scan findings. I will be comfortable if you upload the CT result and any other tests done so far. Patients of IPF must take care of acidity/GERD which is common accompaniment. Also whenever there is swelling of feet they must consult the chest physician as they may be developing right heart failure. More over if there is cyanosis of tongue or nail bed then patient must be requiring oxygen. Vaccination with annual influenza vaccine will be good to prevent infection.
