I have diabetes for last 8 month. I take glz plus tablet for sugar. But I came to know that these medicine causes kidney failure in long term usage. I am worried About it. Today I bought ayurvedic powder of meghdoot madhu shoonya. Can I replace my allopathic medicine by this ayurvedic product or others. please suggest me that medicine that have no effect on kidney. Reg. Gulrez khan.

Diabetes itself causes kidney problem hence do not think so much keep diabetes controlled with medicines prescribed by a qualified doctor.

Hello, Thanks for the query. In patients with diabetes, uncontrolled high glucose levels are the main or the only reason for causing damage to kidney and leading to long term problem of failure. The antidiabetic drugs used (oral) are quite safe. There are patients on oral drugs for over 50 years without any damage to kidney. But if glucose levels are not well controlled that is sure to damage kidney filtration membrane and lead to end stage kidney failure. Thanks.
