Hello. HIV VL is not recommended as a first line test for diagnosis. First go for 4th gen HIV 1 and 2 antibody, antigen test at 28 days and repeat at 90 days after the suspected exposure, if first negative. Do not waste money on VL ,its mainly done for HIV positive pts to see the base line VL and for monitoring treatment. In ICTC clinic test is done free of cost.
