Dear lybrate-user, Schizophrenia needs long term treatment. Long term treatment has long term side effects. Usually they are NOT fatal. There are drugs that pass through liver, making it work more. But there are drugs that does not pass through liver, like Paliperidone. It is given during jaundice period. The doctor treating your friend knows about the drugs and its long term side effects. She/ he would not prescribe overdose. Payal might have taken overdose herself. The doctor checks up during every visit for long term side effects and detects it much earlier before jaundice develops. I don't know how many before jaundice.
