I Have (3.2 x 2.9) cm cyst in my right ovary and the endometrium is minimally thickened. But the doctor is saying surgery is not required and I have irregular period. What is the issue in this.

Ovarian cysts less than 6cm in size are usually functional and related to hormonal imbalance. Surgery is not needed at this stage. Rather you should take a course of hormonal pills for three months ; get a repeat USG done to see if things have normalised
