I am 63-year-old and suffering from diabetic since 6/2010 and also having low bp and minor heart problem rhd. Presently taking following medicines: - kindly suggest which medicine is harmful for me and affects kidney. Tab januvia 50 mg bd oo tab pioz 7.5 mg bd oo tab amaryl 3 mg bd oo tab d-aztor 10 mg. Od o cap prosovit -m 75 od o syp laxit plus.

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. The medications used to treat diabetes and neuropathy, (which you are taking) are quite safe. These need to be taken for a very long time like 25 to 30 plus years by most patients who are treatment. There hardly any reports of side effects or problems being created in kidney or other vital organs. In fact if diabetes or high blood glucose is not well controlled that can cause severe kidney damage not the drugs. Thanks.
