I am a diabetic for 15 yeas now. Obimet and vildagliptin can be taken together? Or, any one will do? Which one is better? I understand both are metformin hydro chloride prolonged- release tablets. Please advise.

They are two different medicines prescribed to control diabetes. They are entirely different entities and can not be compared and should be taken if prescribed by your physician.

Mr. Lybrate-user, thanks for the query. Tablet obimet contains metformin. Whereas vildagliptin is a different compound. These drugs are usaully combined together. But whether to to one or both depends on the glucose levels, hba1c%, I can not answer without all the necessary details. Thanks.
