Anxiety, rudeness, shakiness, high body temperature, mood swings. He's not being able to leave alcohol. He turns into a different person after drinking. I tried to take him to a doctor but he won't go. What medicine should be given so that he gives up drinking? Please advice.

Dear mam, I can imagine it must be quite tough for you. The medicines used for treatment of alcohol addiction may cause severe side effects and hence should be prescribed and used only under supervision of a psychiatrist. So do not medicate him by yourself. I gather that he is unwilling to see a doctor. Talk to him about how concerned you are for him. Talk to your family and ask your family to intervene and encourage him to seek help.
