My hiv western blot report says all antigens absent. But serum control band shows present. What does this means. Hiv 1 & hiv 2 value is sero negative.

Hello. As per your test result you are negative for hiv. Not to confuse you with medical terms for explaining wb ,the control band has to show present for the test to be valid. However, please, just to let you and others know that wb is not recommended as screening test but as confirmatory test after elisa or rapid test give positive result. I hope tht your test covered the window period of 3 months after the suspected exposure. Thanks.
