Hello lybrate-user, the reason for fall in hb levels need to be investigated. The general causes for low haemoglobin are 1) vitamin deficiency especially of folic acid and b12 2) haemolytic anaemia- where red blood cells are destroyed at a much faster rate due to reasons like sickle cell anaemia, thalassemia, liver infections, overactive spleen 3) aplastic anaemia- in which due to some reason the bone marrow reduces production of rbc cells 4) in women heavy menstrual cycle could be one reason 5) loss of occult blood in stool due to gastro intestinal pathology. Have a healthy diet- include more coloured vegetables in diet, take daily beet root, or pomegranate juice, include dates, sesame seeds, jaggery in diet and you also require medications to improve the absorption and assimilation of iron and treat the cause for low hb levels. You can consult me in person or through online for treatment.
