lybrate-user, the medication you have been taking is a benzodiazepine class of medication that is known to cause dependence after as brief as four weeks of use. If you have been taking it daily for 10-12 years, it is critical that you consult with your neurophysician to see if its appropriate to consider a lower dose and a slower taper instead of abruptly stopping it resulting in disconcerting symptoms that you have experienced. Beware that stopping suddenly can also cause severe seizures (fits) among other life threatening conditions. Also, discuss with your physician to temporarily consider an ssri medication to help you taper off depra.
