Hello doc. I am 28 years old female. Planning for pregnancy. Got my tests done. Have pcod n tsh level 6.95.doc has started thyroxine sodium tables thyronorm 25 mcg n few vitamins medicine. Should I start taking medicine as prescribed? Or go for 2nd opinion.

In its important that if you planning for pregnancy than with respect to tsh, it should be kept less than 2.5,so its perfectly fine to start thyronorm. Repeat tsh after 4 weeks and adjust the dose as required. For pcos, lifestyle modification and weight reduction is if utmost importance. Avoid high calorie food, do daily exercises and brisk walk for 30 minutes. Best wishes.
