I am using meprate since 4 years to manage my pcod. I have gained significant amount of weight although I seem to get my period as scheduled. No diet or workout is helping me bring it down. Please advise how to approach this issue for an effective resolution?

Hello. It often happens that in pcos there is significant weight gain. Do not loose heart, continue with lifestyle modification. Do regular exercise and 30 min of brisk walk. Avoid high calorie food take small meals at regular intervals get some basic investigations like blood sugar (both fasting and and after 2 hours of 75 gram glucose intake, tsh, prolactin and serum testosterone. Its prudent to use metformin if there is impaired glucose tolerance, central obesity, acanthosis nigricans or in presence of metabolic syndrome. Also instead of meprate you can use new generation combined pills.
