I had following symptoms black stool, loss of appetite on 20,21 and 22 March 2019 so I went for stool tests and I had ascariasis as well as e.coli infection. In the stool culture report it was not mentioned which version of e.coli it was whether it was shiga toxin producing e.coli or not. But some antibiotics were mentioned in the report and their sensitivity. So I took albendazole for ascariasis and levofloxacin 500 mg and ornidazole 500 mg for e.coli. My antibiotics course was supposed to be for 7 days but on 4th and 5th day I had few red colored stools so I stopped it on 6th day. What should I do now and also tell me if I may develop hus because I read online that antibiotic treatment of e.coli can lead to it?

Hemolytic-uremic syndrome (hus) often occurs after a gastrointestinal infection with e coli bacteria (escherichia coli o157: h7). However, the condition has also been linked to other gastrointestinal infections, including shigella and salmonella. You will not get it now and you were infected with different strain.
