I have shaking hands and neck also shakes when I was in anger and consulted neurologist (thyroid test, split ring test for eye has done & both are negative) and he given course for 2 months provanol sr 40 mg (morning 1 tab. Almost 1 1/2 month completed I still observe shaking of hands (left is more) when I do minute things like threading of a needle, rotating key rod of an wrist watch (doctor doubted it may be tenmor) (my mother also had same problem and she also under course) need suggestions. Thanks in advance.

You are suffering from movement disorder which is termed tremors. It has multiple causes, common is the essential tremors, for which no obvious cause can be found despite investigations. This form of tremors aggravates during stress, alcohol intake, sleep deprivation, performing certain actions such as eating, writing, etc. Absent during sleep. Propranolol (provanol) is the drug of choice .but other movement disorders have to be ruled out like parkinson's disease, huntingtons disease, lewy body disease, wilsons disease by getting ct brain, serum copper levels. Continue your neurologist consultation. Avoid coffee, cigarette,alcohol, sleep deprivation, stress,anger.

Seems like anxiety disorder, consult a psychiatrist rather than neurologist who are the correct speciality to treat the same, as anxiety comes under psychiatric disorders. They will be able to suggest symptom oriented proper medication apart from behavior therapy. All the best.
