I am 25 year old. I am taking opium from last 7 years. I have taken several medicines from different doctors to quit this drug but was not able to overcome it. The last treatment I took was 3 years ago where doctor recommended me some medicines in which one of the medicine is arkamin 100 mcg (clonidine) .i was not able to overcome opium addiction this time also but instead, I became addicted to arkamin tablets and I start taking it in high quantity along with opium. Now currently I am taking 15 tablets of arkamin 100 mcg along with opium from last 3 years. I really need to quit these both drugs. Please help me. Advise me some good medicines. Is there any better medicines available in homoeopathy? Actually, I want to move on for further studies to abroad next month and I am really worried about my health and I want to leave these drugs behind here and want to start a new life. Please help me.

Mr. Lybrate-User, Unless you want no medicine can help you to come out from the difficulty/ addictions you have. It more of sounds like a case where just after a small stress you consume something of your addiction. If you genuinely want to quit then start with the right method like 1. Start reducing the consumption of the drug/ opium. 2. Make a chart to note the progress and gradually reduce the consumption. 3. You may end up facing a lot of physical symptoms, may feel less energetic for which you can choose to visit a psychiatrist or general physician. Let me know if in case you need more help.

Dear Lybrate user body becomes habitual of medicines and you may even feel withdrawal symptoms or anxiety if you do not take your medicines. If you think you are not able to control your issues so consult a good psychotherapist and hypnotherapist. He will guide and help you through this and do get in touch with you psychiatrist while your situation is being improved and thus he will reduce medicines and eventually stop them once you no longer need them. Good luck. Take care.

hello. i would recommend in-patient setting (admission) in such a case for detoxification and further management. you have to also decide whether you want Harm reduction strategies or complete abstinence because future success depends on this decision of yours. also being in regular therapy sessions (MI/MET/ NA meetings) help stay sober for a longer period of time. best luck thanks
