My wife had uti. Urine culture found e-coli esbl resistant to most antibiotic. So, she was treated for uti with ertapenem injection she has taken 14 injection. Urine reports are now clear of pus cell and bacteria. Their is no symptoms of uti at present. However, Dr. is advising niftas 100 mg for 3 month. Is it safe to take antibiotic for so long and is it required to take for so long. She also has diabetics and is on medication for same. This is first time she had uti she is 55 year old.
