You must encourage her to seek therapy with a therapist who is qualified to treat schizophrenia. Relying entirely on medication will not suffice. There is no doubt that this disease is debilitating but she must persevere not only with the medication but also with counseling. The counseling gives her an avenue to work with her emotional issues and she will develop skills in coping with the everyday challenges that life throws at her. I hope her visits to the psychiatrist were regular and the medication has been frequently reviewed during these eleven years. She needs to be occupied, and fit into a routine of interesting activities every day. Yoga and meditation is also necessary to train your brain to be disciplined. Exercise always plays a stabilizing role and is the most holistic medicine besides. Since the paranoid mind is regularly perturbed by unreal fears, a reality check through counseling will help her discern fact from fiction. Her socializing and maintaining steady relations is the hallmark of a good recovery program. If I am to assume that there were no relapses during this period, then that is a good sign too. This means that her condition has remained stable all of these years! now go to the next level along with therapy and she can look forward to a more functional and productive lifestyle.

Dear, all your daughter's behaviour are due to schizophrenia. Some persons like your daughter becomes treatment resistant. So clozapine is prescribed. The psychiatrist will increase clozapine slowly to the required dose. Cbt can be add on but not the sole treatment. It needs a series of regular homeworks. Your daughter may not be capable of doing them at the present situation. Ect will be added if she becomes suicidal, not now when she is attending college. Meditation will not be of any help. I don't know about homeopathy. Please wait with hope that clozapine will work at some dose. Beyond clozapine, there are some more drugs to be tried. Each one needs to be started at low dose and gradually increase, because we don't know the full side effects of newer drugs.
