Are there any drug interactions between opipramol 50 mg and vilazodone (ssri. Can they both be taken concomitantly by the patient. If interactions exist, which ssri can be taken with opipramol? Looking forward to receiving your valuable inputs!

Dear Lybrate-User, from the pharmacological stand there may not be any interaction except the metabolism of opipramol can be decreased when combined with vilazodone. Since it is prescribed for you in low 50 mg dose, please take both concomitantly. Report to the doctor, if any new problems come up.

Ssri and tca have reaction potentiaying each other, although opipramol is said to have less potent. And you can land inserotonin syndrome if potency of ssri is increased by tca. Please stop one of them so that you benefit from one of them. Don't add another antidepressant if you are on opipramol.
