Hi, I am 28 years old female with two kids aged 3 and 1 years. ?married since 6 yrs. Lately, I had early signs of depression. Dr. gave me night n after 3-4 months now on nexito.(similar) started since jan 2019 meanwhile, I had heavy, long and frequent periods to which gynae gave me Ginette 35. I had for two months. 2 months was fine as soon as I left medicine. periods are the same. Came after 10 days again. Lately, I had noticed that I am not enjoying sex. couldn't feel the penis inside. Nor the feeling neither reached climax. Earlier used to spark with single touch but now doesn't feel like. I quit Ginette 35 but no change. What could be the reason? But was enjoying before. and even after having depression medicines. All this started in between. Is this due to medicines or could be another reason.?

Dear lybrate-user, there may be many reasons from your description that you are not able to enjoy sexual activity. Primarily it would be depression and one of the cardinal symptoms of depression is the inability to enjoy activities that one used to enjoy before. This is known as anhedonia. You might need to consult your psychiatrist to change your medications or to optimize the dosages. Also around the time of your menstrual period, you would be normally not inclined to sexual activity if you have menstrual dysphoria which is quite common in females.
