I am 51 years old diagnosed for type 2 since 2 years. My average sugar count is fasting 110 and fpp count is 130. I am taking metformin 500 mg twice a day. Should I go for diabecon instead of metformin.

Hi lybrate-user! you are doing well with metformin and it is a time tested, good drug for diabetes. So I don't find any reason for you to switch over to some other drug. If you do regular exercise and follow a diabetic diet in addition to taking metformin, it would keep you in good health.

No your blood sugar is ok. Never self medicate.

Yes you may try diabecon ds or bgr34 or mdbgr (last two are more effective) as an ayurvedic alternative as you have low ppbs. Try this for at least one month and then do fbs and ppbs and let me know. For any further information or advice you may book an online consultation with me on Lybrate. Thank you. Take care.
