I am 25 years old. I was detected with a lump on lymph node which turned out to be tuberculosis. I was on three medicines-rcin 600, solonex 300, combutol 600. After 3 months, the sonography showed that there was 50% decrease in the size of lump. Now I completed 6 months treatment last week. My weight has not increased or decreased during the course. I went for sonography and the results showed that the lump has increased in size than before. I am doing well, no fever, no weight loss nothing. What does that indicate? Please help. I just need an opinion.

It indicates caseation necrosis with liquefaction. Pyrazinamide should have been included in the regimen. Wide lumen needle aspiration of the liquefied material is required. The material should be subjected to various bacteriological examinations. If mycobacterium tuberculosis is still present, then the case is indicative of drug resistant tb, for which fresh drug regimen should be decided.
