I have recently went to a surgeon for medical checkup of the my testicle. He told me that i'm having hydrocele (minor) in one testicle. He has given me some medicines for five days -- olficef 10 tab, ampoxin 15 tab, dolostat-sp 15 tab and hetrazan 15 tab. Moreover he told me that there is some water which get filled in that particular testicle and it may require a surgery even to drain that water. What should I do now? Should I go for the surgery or should take medicines first? Will it get cured itself without surgery? Is it life threatening if not treated?

You can take medicines for two weeks and if it's any inflammation it will go away. Wear supporting underwear. If it's there after two weeks get a scrotal usg done for diagnosis. A small hydrocele can be observed however a big one or one causing pain or dragging sensation needs surgery. Don't worry the surgery is minor and you will be discharged the same day.
