Hello. The priciples of both the tests are same. Ie they are nuclic acid based test. One looks for proviral hiv1 dna, qualitatively (hiv 1 pro viral dna) and another looks at hiv rna ,(hiv 1 rna) mostly quantitatively. Hiv 1 denotes hiv strain 1. I would suggest you to please go for 4th gen dual combo test for initial screening, as recommended by naco india and others. Or you can visit ictc clinic and get test done free of cost. Thanks.
