My mom is 68 had to remove womb due to cancer but it wasn't cervical cancer. She had cancer past 10 years and had to remove her big intestine, she has been living with small intestine for 10 years now. Now my I need to know is it possible she can survive this long with a hole in that stomach with no complications. Now they made a mistake torn her intestine while doing the operation to remove the womb. The dr's he thought it was his fault but only to find the hole it's been there. She developed a fistula and she is critical now. They said it takes 6 weeks to 6 months and what's worse she is diabetic and also has a high blood pressure. Is this possible or this Dr. doesn't want to take responsibility.

It is possible for a fistula to form if intestinal surgery is done and the doctor is not at fault as you think. If the cancer is no very intensive and based on the type of cancer affected person can survive longer especially with medicines.
