Most of the times doctors too don't know why young babies cry, may be it's evening colic, nose block, other physical discomfort or it could be emotional discomfort as well. Inability to express make them frustrated, aggregating the situation further. Give them colicaid, breastfeed, talk to them, burp them hoping something will help. Redeeming feature for mothers is, all babies grow well though these difficult phase.

Hi lybrate-user. There is no single reason for colic and no specified time duration. Most colic goes away after 6 months typically. There is allergy to certain products, too much gas, even understimulation or overstimulation of the baby which may lead to colic. Even growth of abnormal bacteria in the intestine may cause excessive colic. You are doing good things. Avoid certain food products in your diet like egg, fish, soy, peanut to try and see if it reduces the colic. If not you should consult a good pediatrician.

Baby can be crying due to various reasons, it's only way to express something till they start speaking. But it becomes worrisome when its inconsolable cry. If there's no fever vomiting or any pointer towards sickness then no need to worry. Infantile colic can be the cause can use colic aid drops or neopeptine etc for that.

Colic aid drops 1 ml 2-3 times daily esp in the evening and night will take care of abdominal colic. You should burp the baby well for 5 minutes after giving colic aid by putting on shoulder plus zincovit drops 1 ml once daily after breastfeeding for 1 year will help with intestinal immunity till 3 months vitamin d drops only 200 iu should be given because zincovit also contains vitamin d 400iu check labels well and give. After 3 months total dose of vitamin d should not exceed 800iu baby is definitely likely to have allergy and intestinal sensitivity so take vitamin a during 10 th month and 1.5 years vaccination. Avoid rota virus vaccination. Continue vitamin d till 2 yrs also probiotics like prowel or darolac given for one month will heal the irritated intestinal wall.
