My 2 year old boy is suffered from fever for 4 days and crp levels in blood shown 5.2. Doctor prescribed azithromycin for 3 days. What is the reason. After 4 days to till date no fever observed. And his legs and hands are cool than stomach.

Normal CRP levels are below 3.0 mg/L. Keep in mind the normal reference range often varies between labs. ... Levels of CRP over 3.0 mg/L are thought to be a sign of infection whcih can cause the fever and hence the Azithromycin was given and the fever has stopped
