Normal ranges will vary among laboratories; however, a typical range is 4.6 to 11.2 mcg/dl (60 to 145 mmol/l). Serum total t3 concentrations normally low levels of t3 may indicate hypothyroidism or starvation. It could also indicate that you have a long-term illness since t3 levels decrease when you're sick. If you're sick enough to be hospitalized, your t3 levels are likely to be low. You need a check-up and for the cough, you need antihistaminic drugs to avoid allergic cough.
